The Journey

Having worked in commercial studios as an engineer and in-house producer I began to realise that the industry was changing; the traditional method of “camping out” in the studio for a large block of time until an album was done was out of the financial reach of a lot of artists.

This was when I decided to construct my own dedicated production and mixing space, where I could offer the same professional skills at a more affordable price.

The ultimate outcome was always QUALITY. I found that working in great studios was of little value if artists didn’t have the time to perfect their music and mixes. Therefore by reducing the studio overheads I can offer you more precious time at affordable rate.

The Mix Studio

I work from a painstakingly acoustically treated room, offering the optimum space to listen to your precious music. No spare bedroom or mixing with headphones here!

The Equipment

I use a hybrid of digital and analog equipment in my workflow, as is the modern industry standard. I have spent the money where it REALLY matters to make sure I can offer you top end mixes at an affordable rate.

Here is a brief run down of some of the gear I use:

  • Monitors - Focal SM9 - there is no better place to spend money than on the monitors, the source of all the sound, and boy do I not regret this purchase one bit. They are stunning!

  • Converters - Antelope Audio - also incredibly important is the quality of conversion from digital to analog and back, coupled with solid clocking. I use one of the industry’s leaders in this area Antelope Audio.

  • Hardware - I use various analog hardware to add some “real world” warmth to your recordings, such as the Rupert Neve Designs Master Buss Processor

  • Software - I use the DAW software that I trained in, the industry standard Pro Tools, for all of my mixes. I also use plugins by the industries leading companies including Slate Digital, Waves, Fabfilter, Soundtoys, Melodyne, Izotope and many, many more.
